POSITION TITLE: Marketing Assistant

CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt

DEPARTMENT: Marketing

SUPERVISOR: Marketing Director

GRADE: NE-4


Position Summary:

Under direct supervision of the Marketing Director, the Marketing Assistant will provide administrative support and complete tasks that support the team's overall workflow and marketing projects. Represents marketing team in a professional manner while performing a range of support activities.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • At the direction of the Marketing Director, assists with overall project management and workflow. Familiarity with project management software a plus.
  • Assists the Marketing Director in gathering information and assets needed for reports and various other projects.
  • Assists PR Manager with community calendar submissions.
  • Assists PR Manager with social media as needed. (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc.)
  • Assists Sr. Graphic Designer with graphic production-including printing, mounting, and installation.
  • Assists with interdepartmental communication efforts.
  • Attends and assists with events as needed.
  • Supports Marketing Team in all aspects of their work.
  • Contributes to team effort and accomplishes related tasks as needed.
  • Performs other duties as required.



Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Marketing, Journalism or related field or equivalent experience may be substituted. Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screen and background investigation. Native American preference will be given.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledgeable in the use of various computer software - specifically the Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
  • Knowledgeable in the basic principles of marketing and advertising.
  • Experience with Canva and/or Adobe products such as Photoshop, Illustrator, and In Design an asset.
  • Experience with graphic production and printing a plus.
  • Ability to be effective in use of interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Ability to take direction and communicate and collaborate effectively and professionally with wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to prioritize, organize, multi-task and accomplish projects in fast-paced environment with heavy workload, often under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to proofread work for accuracy and quality, with great attention to detail.
  • Skilled in the use of social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn)
  • Skilled in problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to take ownership of projects and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to be flexible with work schedule, as we are an events-driven organization.



Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly is required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee occasionally is required to climb or balance. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.


Work Environment:

Work is generally performed in an office setting. Evening and weekend work may be required.
